Up to €200,000 in Aid for Tourism Businesses Affected by Recent DANA Storms

Ayudas DANA

The Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, in collaboration with the Official Credit Institute (ICO), has launched a special line of financing to support tourism businesses impacted by recent DANA (Isolated High-Level Depression) storms.

This support, channelled through the State Financial Fund for Tourism Competitiveness (FOCIT), is aimed at tourism businesses that have suffered material or economic damage due to these extreme weather events. The goal is to drive recovery with loans of up to €200,000 on highly favourable terms.

The aid will be offered as subsidised loans, featuring 0% interest segments and partial state-backed guarantees. Applications can be submitted directly through participating financial institutions — no need to go through public intermediaries. Eligible expenses include investments in facility repairs, digitalisation, sustainability, operational improvements, or compliance with updated regulations.

This initiative presents a key opportunity for property managers and owners of short-term rentals — particularly holiday rentals — who need to rebuild operations or modernise their businesses. The funds can also be used to implement remote management tools, automate check-in and security processes, install monitoring sensors and smart dashboards, or prepare for compliance with Spain’s upcoming Unified Rental Register.

At Roomonitor, we encourage clients to stay informed and act early to benefit from this support. Our technology — designed to operate remotely, reduce disturbances and enhance guest experience — aligns perfectly with the aims of this aid.
