In this section you will find answers to some of the most common questions about our products and services. If any of your questions are left unanswered, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Nothing. The device simply will stop working until the power supply is restored.

Any time a device is not connected to the power grid or power supply, you will notice that the graphics of a specific section will turn grey in the admin panel with the messsage “Please check the WiFi connection” informing you that the device is not working.

If you click on the ”Details” button you can check how long a specific device has been disconnected.

As soon as the power supply is re-established, the device will automatically connect to the assigned WiFi network without any intervention.

Please note: when a device is not plugged in, it is not monitoring the noise level either.

This device has been designed to work only if it’s connected to a WiFi network, so if it’s not connected to the internet it cannot measure the noise level of your apartment. For that reason, we recommend that you install your devices in a place with a strong and stable WiFi signal in order to avoid frequent disconnections.

As soon as your WiFi network is re-established, the device will automatically connect to it without any intervention. If after 10 minutes in the admin panel you notice that the device is still not working, please contact us.

Please note: when a device is not plugged in, it is not monitoring the noise level either.

We offer a full 2 year warranty in accordance with the EU legislation in force. Our warranty covers any issue you may have with normal usage of our devices except in the cases listed below:

Humidity and Water: any issue from water spills and humidity are not covered by Roomonitor’s general warranty. Every device will be fully reviewed by our technical department in order to identify the cause of the malfunction.
Electrical Short Circuit: any issue or short circuit from an incorrect use of the included adaptor is not covered by Roomonitor’s general warranty. Every device will be fully reviewed by our technical department in order to identify the cause of the malfunction.

General Misuse: any issue from a use different than those for which the device has been designed will not be covered by Roomonitor’s warranty.

If during the 2 year warranty any manufacturing defect is detected, the device will be replaced with a new one without any additional costs.

These devices have been designed to cover an apartment of up to 100 square meters. If your property is larger, you may consider installing more than one device. We recommend installing a device in a room that guests use frequently like living rooms, kitchens, or terraces. If your property has more than one living room, we recommend installing more devices.

First, you need to do these checks:

Check if the device is correctly plugged into the power supply with the adaptor properly in place (use only those provided with the devices); eventually plugging in different devices to test the outlet (lamp, phone…).

Check if your WiFi network is working, eventually trying to connect another device to the WiFi (PC, Tablet, Phone..). We recommend to check the signal in the same place where the device is installed.

If the device is still not working after these two checks, please contact our support team writing to support@roomonitor.com. We will remotely check if the issues is due to a malfunction or if it’s due to another cause. In any case, we are going to give you the best solution.

The device is not designed to be waterproof; however, it can be used outdoors if installed away from water (fountains, irrigation systems, gutters…) and humidity, ideally in covered places. Any issue due to water and humidity is not covered by Roomonitor’s general warranty.

We are working to offer you a waterproof version of the device soon.

Absolutely not! You have nothing to worry about. Our smart technology only identifies noise disturbances and does not record conversations.

Yes, it’s fully customizable. You can set how you prefer to receive alerts from Roomonitor, and we can alert you either as a text message or call. For instance, if you are a property manger and you have a 24 hour reception service, you can set Roomonitor to notify you with an SMS and to alert the receptionist with a call to a different phone number. You can even set Roomonitor to call guests to notify them anytime their noise level exceeds acceptable limits by including their phone number.

Sure you can! Roomonitor can be customized for each property both with quiet hour settings and noise sensitivity. A property with a history of noise complaints and sensitive neighbors would likely be set to “Very Sensitive.” Other settings are “Moderate” and “Not Very Sensitive.”
